CHILD ADOPTION HOME STUDIES

At the beginning of your adoption journey, the first element to complete is a home study. Whether you chose to file for an adoption (Domestic or Independent), foster parent application or request to have a child placed in your home, the adoption home study is needed. The home study is a detailed report that represents your family in court or with a foreign authority for approval. A home study report provides a background biographical profile summary that includes but is not limited to information about you, your home, your lifestyle, emotional readiness for adoption, financial status, and health. During the home study process, I will also provide you with information and resources to make sure you are well prepared for parental adoption.

My goal is a successful adoption experience for all the children and families. with thoughtful attention given to guiding you through all this critical processes involved. The home study process usually lasts between 3 and 5 months and includes adoption training, interviews, document compilation, scheduling authorizations, recommendations, and at least one home visit.
